It’s easy to find an event to match your likes and interests when you’re a resident of Columbus, Ohio. There are frequent festivals, concerts, sporting events and restaurant hops happening right in our backyard every month! Here is your guide to Columbus, Ohio events and activities for this April.

April Gallery Hop

The Short North Arts District in Columbus is known for their monthly Gallery Hop. The first Saturday of each month dozens of galleries and unique exhibit spaces come together to celebrate art. With restaurants and bars keeping extra hours for the crowds, street performers on the corners, and great food and drinks along the art walk, this monthly Columbus activity provides for a great night out on the town.

Sesame Street Live

Performing at the Schottenstein Center on April 3rd, this family friendly activity is sure to be a favorite for many Columbus, Ohio kids. This live Sesame Street show features Elmo, Abby, Cookie Monster, Grover, Big Bird and many other favorites. Joined by a special magician and with a lesson about magic and finding magical moments in everyday life, this show is sure to entertain, educate and give you and your kids some great laughs.

Blast: The Big Science Bash

Located at the COSI Columbus, this evening event is a sort of dinner and dance, with drinks and friends and great laughs added on top. With live music from The Conspiracy Band, an opportunity to explore the 320,000 square feet of the COSI, a hosted bar and small plates of delicious food from twenty of Columbus’ best restaurants, this evening event is sure to create some great memories. Although a bit pricey, all proceeds benefit COSI’s mission and it’s a great excuse to dress up and get a sitter for an adult night out on the town.

Cinderella

When is the last time you and your family went to the live theatre? With the play Cinderella recurring daily from April 12th – April 14th at the Ohio theatre, we think this is a great excuse to get back into supporting your local artists and taking in some live theatre. This classic fairytale, full of hope and dreams made true, is sure to entertain adults and children alike. And priced at only $25.00 a person its an affordable show for the whole family to enjoy.

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Boston Bruins

If you’ve missed hockey so far this season don’t worry, you still have time to fit in a Columbus Blue Jackets game! Hosting the Boston Bruins at Nationwide Arena on April 2nd, and with tickets ranging from $10 - $250, this is a great way to get out for the evening while supporting your local Columbus team.

Equine Affaire

The Equine Affaire, happening from April 11th – April 14th at the Ohio Expo Center is the nation’s premiere equine exposition. This is the largest horse-related trade show in all of North America with top equine entertainment and competitions. This event is a special opportunity to see, feel, touch and experience these majestic creatures up close and personal.
